Nintendo 3DS: A New Generation Of Handheld Games Consoles

If you r PS3 is out of warranty, you will also have to pay $150 to get it fixed not to mention that they will most likely ship you a refurbished unit back...that blows!

To learn simple and quick solutions that may fix your issue, then proceed below.

Let's first tackle the simplest things to check first. In many cases believe it or not it's the cables. A loose cable can trigger the yellow or red light. First unplug all the cables including the power supply. Reconnect each one making sure they are connected firmly. Power on your PS3 and see if you continue to experience any issues.

If you still have the issue, check to make sure you don't have a faulty power supply. The easiest way to check this is by swapping it out with another power supply. Many monitors and computers use universal power supplies. See if you can locate one with the same power requirements as your PS3. If so, swap them out and see if that corrects your problem. If so than this PS3 fixer worked!

If not than your PS3 may be overheating. To correct this you will need to remove the casing to get inside your console.

Once you have removed the PS3 body get a can of compressed air and spray all the internal electronics especially the motherboard. Overtime dust and other particles build up on the motherboard circuits causing the system to overheat. By cleaning the components, the PS3 internal fans can do their job keeping the system cool.

Now restore the body and power up your PS3 to see if that fixed everything.

If your PS3 is showing the red screen of death than you may need to reformat your hard drive. But before you do that, first update your firmware. Once your firmware has been updated reboot your system and see if you still get the red screen. If so you will need to reformat your hard drive.
